The Greenhorn Valley has an opinion Go to talkback
Are we getting our money's worth?

Sunday, June 7, KOAA Channel 5 aired a report in which they showed video tape of two Pueblo County Commissioners, Anthony Nunez and John Cordova, apparently working far less than a full work week and what appeared as misusing county-owned vehicles. Sunday, June 14, the Pueblo Chieftain responded with an article that was much more symapathetic, saying the commissioners do put in a full work week when all circumstances, including evening appointments, meetings and social events, are factored in. In an editorial Chieftain Editor Steve Henson even went so far as to say the two were ambushed and Channel 5 didn't do their job because they didn't get the whole story. He also said stated that the quality of work performed is more important than the quantity of hours put in. What do you think? Are Pueblo County taxpayers getting their money's worth from Cordova and Nunez.

Final poll results

Do you think the apparent actions of Anthony Nunez and John Cordova meet the standards voters should be able to expect from elected officials?

Yes, I believe they perform to expected standards. When evening meetings and social events are factored in, they put in more than enough hours. 3 11%
No, I don't believe these guys are putting in anything close to 40 hours per week. We, as voters, should expect and receive a lot better than what we are apparently getting. 25 89%
